What this website collects

Very little. The website has no accounts, no sign-up, no comment boxes and no forms that send data to us. Nothing you type on the site is stored by the site. It does not use advertising trackers.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, how visitors reach us, and roughly which country or city they are in, along with the type of device and browser. Google Analytics sets cookies, which are small files kept in your browser, to tell one visit from another. The reports we see are summaries, and we do not use them to identify you. Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. To opt out, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or block cookies in your browser; the website works the same either way.

Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting server that may keep standard access logs, such as the IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser used, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

Information you send us

When you contact us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone, we receive what you choose to share: typically your name, designation, institution, contact details, and any brochure, advertisement, bio or photograph you attach. We use it only for the purpose you sent it for:

• Listing an event or a vacancy: to verify the event or vacancy with the institution and to publish the listing on the Events or Jobs page.
• Resource-person listing: to prepare your profile and to connect you with institutions that ask for a speaker in your field.
• Opportunity Seekers listing: to prepare your profile and to publish it on the Opportunity Seekers page so that institutions looking for faculty can find you.
• Guest Adjudicator listing: to prepare your profile and to publish it on the Guest Adjudicator page so that institutions looking for judges, jurors, panellists or evaluators can find you.
• Examination Duties listing: to prepare your profile and to publish it on the Examination Duties page so that universities, boards and colleges looking for evaluators, question setters or scrutinisers can find you.
• Credit Course Tutors listing: to prepare your profile and to publish it on the Credit Course Tutors page so that institutions that need a tutor for a credit course can find you.
• Resource-person and credit-course tutor requests: to publish your institution's request on the Resource Person needed or Credit Course Tutors needed page, with the coordinator's name, designation and email ID as you supply them, and to pass on responses.
• General enquiries: to reply to you.

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists.

What we publish

Event and vacancy listings contain the details an organiser or institution has made public in its brochure or advertisement, such as titles, dates, fees, official email IDs and registration links. Brochures and advertisements themselves are not published; they are used only to verify and fill in the listing.

Resource-person profiles are published only with the consent of the person concerned, and only with the details they have agreed to share.

Opportunity Seekers profiles are published only at the request of the person concerned, after they have approved the text. A profile shows what the candidate has chosen to share: name, status (fresher or experienced), posts held and where, educational qualifications, a short brief of their research, the posts and places they are seeking, and an email ID or profile link if they want institutions to contact them directly. Institutions may also reach a candidate through us, in which case we pass on the enquiry and nothing more. We do not publish phone numbers, dates of birth, photographs or home addresses on these profiles.

Guest Adjudicator profiles work the same way: they are published only at the request of the faculty member, after they have approved the text, and show their name, designation and institution, discipline, the roles they are willing to take, teaching and adjudication experience, the regions they can travel to, availability, a short brief, and an email ID or profile link if they want institutions to contact them directly. Examination Duties profiles likewise show the name, designation and institution, the qualifications and eligibility to evaluate, set or scrutinise papers, previous examination duties, the regions and streams (aided, unaided or government) they will serve, availability, a short brief, and contact details only if the person wants them shown.

Credit Course Tutors profiles are published only at the request of the tutor, after they have approved the text, and show their name, academy or institute, the courses they offer, mode, experience and past engagements, regions, availability, a short brief, and contact details only if the tutor wants them shown. Requests on the Credit Course Tutors needed page are published at the request of the institution and show the course, the tutor sought and the coordinator's details as supplied; they are taken down once the respond-by date has passed or when the institution asks.

Requests on the Resource Person needed page are published at the request of the institution concerned and show the event, the resource persons sought and the coordinator's name, designation and email ID as the institution supplied them. A request is taken down once the event is over or when the institution asks.

Verification emails

When an institution sends us an event or vacancy, we may email the institution at its official address to confirm that the listing is genuine. That email contains only the details of the listing being checked.

Third-party services

• WhatsApp: messages you send us on WhatsApp are handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
• Google Analytics: provided by Google and used to measure visits to this website, as described above, under Google's own terms and privacy policy.
• Email: our mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail), so emails you send us are stored there.
• Links to other websites: registration forms, institution websites and Shantha Hi Tech are run by their owners under their own policies.

How long we keep information

We keep the details of a listing for as long as it is published, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case of queries. Resource-person, Credit Course Tutors, Opportunity Seekers, Guest Adjudicator and Examination Duties profiles are kept for as long as you wish to be listed and are taken down when you ask; resource-person and credit-course tutor requests are taken down once the event or respond-by date has passed, or earlier when the institution asks. Messages are kept in our WhatsApp and email accounts in the ordinary course of business.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to correct or remove a listing or profile that concerns you, or to delete the messages and attachments you have sent us. Write to email or message us on WhatsApp at +91 7010220545, and we will act on the request promptly.

Children

This website is intended for faculty, research scholars and institutions. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
