Eligibility

• PhD with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout
• Professor: 10 years teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor
• Associate Professor: minimum of 6 years teaching / research / industrial experience of which at least three years at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent
• Assistant Professor, Grade-I: regular appointments for those with 3 or more years of teaching / research / industrial experience excluding experience gained during PhD
• Assistant Professor, Grade-II (on Contract): for a fresh PhD, contract basis for the first three years
• Age (Cycle II): as on 1st November 2026, upper age limit is 35 years for Assistant Professor; relaxation as per GoI guidelines

Pay

• Professor: 14A (Rs. 159100-220200), entry Rs. 1,59,100/p.m.
• Associate Professor: 13A2 (Rs. 139600-211300), entry Rs. 1,39,600/p.m.
• Assistant Professor (Grade-I): 12 (101500-167400), entry Rs. 1,01,500/p.m.
• Assistant Professor (Grade-II): Level 11, entry Rs. 89,900/p.m.
• Assistant Professor (Grade-II): Level 10, entry Rs. 70,900/p.m.
