Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur

Eligibility

• Medical candidates: medical qualification in Schedule I & II or Part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956, or FMGE for foreign MBBS graduates; plus MD/MS/DNB in concerned specialization and/or M.Ch/DM for super-specialities
• Non-medical candidates: PhD degree in the concerned specialisation; non-medical applicants eligible only in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pathology (MSc in Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology / Molecular Biology and Medical genetics and PhD in related fields, with three years of post-PhD research experience)
• Professor: minimum three years as Associate Professor in a recognised Medical College/Institution; at least two research publications after becoming Associate Professor; Basic courses in Medical Education Technology and Biomedical Research from NMC-designated institutions
• Associate Professor: minimum four years as Assistant Professor in a recognised Medical College/Institution (or five years for those appointed directly as Assistant Professor in Government medical institution); at least two research publications after becoming Assistant Professor; NMC basic courses
• Assistant Professor (medical): one year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognised Medical College/Institution
• Age: less than 60 years on the date of application

Pay

• Professor: Level-14A, Rs. 159100-220200/- plus NPA as per rules for medically qualified candidates only
• Associate Professor: Level-13A2, Rs. 139600-211300/- plus NPA for medically qualified candidates only
• Assistant Professor: Level-12, Rs. 101500-167400/- plus NPA for medically qualified candidates only
